Please try to support the upcoming Golf Outing on June 3rd.
It will be held at AJ Jolly Golf Course in Campbell County KY.
This year we will have two recipients of the proceeds. One will be the council the second is fellow knight Bob Jonas. Bob has been battling Brain Cancer and is in the early stages of his recovery. He has like many cancer victims challenges with expenses. Please plan on playing in this outing or supporting it with a hole sponsorship or a donation.
This is a major fund raiser for the hall as well as a way for us to help a fellow knight in the time of need.

4/19/2012 Letter from the Grand Knight
Brother Knights,
We are off to a running start with the success of the shuffle board league rounding down this past month and the start of the golf season last night. Like past years the golf league started out strong with all the teams having fun no matter how the ball was flying.
Congratulations to Paul Kowalak for managing a very success shuffle board league. It was the first year for this league and the attendance was great! We had some very interesting and fun nights competing. The most fun might have been waiting for your turn on the board and sitting in the audience have a drink with fellow knights and needling the other teams. It was great especially when Joe Zistler and Nick Meyer were badgering each other... both very good at this part of the game!!!
Congratulations to Mike Myres Team for being the CHAMPS of the inaugural year!!
Thanks and congratulations to TJ Russo for successfully getting the league filled for the start of the 21012 season.
It has been a struggle with a number of players from last year not returning for the 2012 season. A number of reasons for not returning but we were left about 6 golfers short. TJ worked diligently with others from the league to get these spots filled. The spots now filled have brought us some potential new members as well as great people to play golf with. We welcome all the new members of the league and again thank TJ for his efforts.
Tommy Mathews has begun to help Mike Myres with the hall rental work. Tommy is now taking the calls about renting the hall. Both Tommy and Mike will continue to work to get more rentals for the hall. Please continue to support the hall by promoting the hall for all kinds of events! Please have folks call the hall at 233-8337 for hall rental information.
Speaking of the hall we need to have a cleanup day to get the place looking sharp! We will talk this at the next Home Company Meeting on Monday April 23rd. We will be looking for folks to wash windows, mop and help wax the floors, clean bathrooms and dust down the entire second floor. No matter what you think you can do we will have a job for everyone. Please stop by the hall on the 23rd after 7;00 PM for the meeting or call the hall at 232-8337 to volunteer or call me at 543-8017. We look forward to having a great time cleaning the hall…..lunch will be on the house.
While I’m at it thanks also to Fritz Zistler for the work he has been doing around the hall. The stuff Fritz does is so noticeable that most of it if not all is taken for granted. When you drive into the lot and see an improvement it might be that Fritz was there. Thanks Fritz we appreciate you and all your work.
Thanks also to Tim Meyer and son Nick for repairing the tractor so that we were ready for the grass cutting season. Somehow someone was using the tractor and it got backed up against the garage and the gears were not working….no idea who that was but their initials were TONY RUSSO…… Tim and Nick had to take the tractor almost completely apart to get to the part that was broke. It was a lot of work so the next time you see Tim or Nick tell them thanks for a job well done. Also the small tractor was also repaired. Tim had to do some major work on that tractor as well so that it was ready to be abused by that same guy who broke the big tractor. All is well for now so please make sure to thank these folks!!!!
Nick also revived the old sign that is now in front of the hall advertising the upcoming RUMMAGE SALE. The work that was done was mostly done by his girl friend Amanda!!! I wanted to take a moment and thank her for making the sign look as much like new as possible….for such an old sign. It has seen better days but thanks to Nick and Amanda it will see quit a few more.
We had another issue with someone dumping off unauthorized stuff in the dumpster!! We have had in the recent past stuff in both dumpster and behind the hall. Please if you are involved in this STOP! If you’re not and you see anything suspicious please let someone know or get a license number and call the police. We need to stop folks from using our facility as a dumping ground!!!! Thanks to Nick Meyer and Andy Russo for getting the discarded refrigerator taken to the recycling facility. Also thanks to Andy and Nick for helping with the grass cutting and trimming.
Please be ready for a call from Joe Zistler. Thanks to Joe for taking on the task of the MEASURE UP PROGRAM again this year. Tons of work from coordinating the work to get folks to collect at church and Kroger’s to the actual collection is what Joe has been working for many years now. It is a thankless job but one that benefits 4 of our organizations that we support. It’s a collection for those that are not familiar with the program for Handicapped Kids and Adults. We support Catholic Residential Services, Camp Stepping Stones, Autism Society and Hamilton County Special Olympics.
Please be generous with your time to collect as well as donations to the cause.
One final request.
Any and all help and support is appreciated.
Stop by the hall and enjoy the facility. I look forward to seeing everyone soon.

2012 Moeller Knights of Columbus Rummage Sale May 19th - 20th
Brother Knights,
With spring time just around the corner this means that garage sale season is almost upon us as well. This being said I would like to organize a council rummage sale that will take place May 19th and 20th. I plan to sell donated items as well as rent "booths" for people who would like to sell their own items, crafts, bake goods, etc.
In order to make this a success I need help from you guys. I ask you to dig thru those closets and garages and dust off some of those things you have not used or maybe even seen for years and donate them. Spread the word to your family, friends, and churches that we are accepting items. We will accept anything (please no broken or heavily damaged pieces). Anything that is not sold will either be kept for future rummage sales or donated to St. Vincent de Paul so nothing will be wasted. Also, if you know of anyone that may be interested in selling their items in one of our booths please pass my information along. I will also need volunteers the days of the sale as well as days prior to the sale.
If you would like to donate or volunteer please do not hesitate to call Nick Meyer or stop by the hall for more info. If the items are to large or too heavy we can arrange someone (either myself or another member) to come pick them up for you. I hope to make this a great success and make it an annual or semiannual event.
Thanks ,
Nick Meyer
2/7/2012 Letter from the Grand Knight
Dear Brother Knights,
Thanks to those folks who were able to make the meeting last night. We had a lot of good discussion about what has been going on at the hall as well as what we have set up in the next few months. I look forward to seeing everyone at the next regular business meeting March 5th!
I would like to take just a minute if I could and ask anyone who was not able to make this month’s meeting to try to attend the meeting next month. We have a wonderful facility and a great council but we are not utilizing either to their full potential. We have for many years had some great traditions and gatherings that have somehow slipped away and I would like to work along with the rest of the members to get these special moments back. We have so much potential and I for one am not willing to let the council slip away as many of our fellow councils have.
I know that there are lots of other places we can spend our time but want to ask you to consider spending some of that time at the hall helping to bring the hall back to its previous splendor. We have a couple events like the Corn Hole Tournament in March, our shuffleboard league on Wednesday nights, membership drives scheduled for a couple of our churches in March.
Please stop by the hall and get active.
Grand Knight ,
Tony

Stringing Up The Lights...
Nov. 12 was our annual day to once again ascend the Mt. Washington Water Tower and string up lights for the big night! The weather cooperated nicely and we had a great day atop the hill.
Click on the pictures below to see some images from this year and other years.

Measure Up Check Presentation...
Thanks to the hard work of Joe Zistler and all Knights who collected for the Measure-Up, we were again able to make donations to our 4 local charities.

10/26/2011 Letter from the Grand Knight
Dear Brother Knights,
It is now that time of year and yes like you I also seem to have let time get away from me and now it’s almost Christmas!! Well not quit yet but for everything we do around the hall it might as well be.
As you all know or at least should know I love the holidays! I think I love them most because it’s when family seems to spend a little more time together or friends and everyone you come across seem to be in a better mode. I can’t put my finger on it exactly but it is the most wonderful time of the year!!!!
We have a number of activities that I would like to point out and if you could I would like to ask for your help. Let’s start with the set up of the grounds getting ready for the delivery of the Christmas Trees. The trees will be delivered on Friday November 18th, sometime around 3PM. We will unload the truck and be putting trees in the general area of where they will be sold. If you can help please be at the hall around 2:30 and if you have gloves bring them. We are hoping to have some help from Turpin High School like we did last year but won’t know how many kids until that day so please help if you can.
We are also going to be getting the Mt Washington Tower lights ready for the big light up that will happen on Saturday November 26th. This year we will need a number of folks to help with replacing light bulbs and sockets since the lights have been up all year and I’m sure the wind and weather have played heck on them. Please plan to be at the hall at 9AM on Saturday November 12th or at the Mt Washington Water Tower about 9:15 to help get the tower ready for the Light Up Mt Washington.
On Saturday November 19th we will be distributing Thanksgiving Baskets to the folks who have had some rough times and are need of some help. We will be distributing between 25 and 30 baskets and can use help packing them and distributing them. If you can help please be at the hall about 9AM on the 19th. We will get the baskets packed and then load up the trucks and set out to help make a few folks Thanksgiving a little nicer.
On Friday November 25th we will begin selling Christmas Trees. Please call Al Schultz at 378-0608 or Tony Russo at 543-8017 if you can help or stop by the hall and sign up for a shift or two. It’s rewarding work and the look on some of the kids faces are precious. We also will be setting the trees up the week before so anytime that you have to help please call Al or Tony to volunteer.
We can also use some help the night of the Tower Lighting. I don’t have a lot of data on what the community is planning to do this year but I do know that we will be lighting the tower about 6PM. We usually have food duty that night and will need some cooks and distributors of the food. If you can help we usually start about 4:00PM so please stop by the hall or call Tony or Al to volunteer.
With all that is going on let’s not forget about the real reason for the season! We have had a Christmas Party and a Breakfast with Santa for many years but have not had one in the past couple years. I would like to propose that we have a Council Christmas Party and a Breakfast with Santa. I know that we might not have the numbers we use to but I think the only way we get the council back to its original glory is to start having activities the way we use to. Please plan on attending the Breakfast with Santa on Sunday December 18th. I will be talking with a couple of the local churches and our members and see where we have a Corporate Communion that day. Also I would like to propose a Council Christmas Party on Saturday December 17th. Please RSVP to Tony Russo at 543-8017 for either or both of these activities.
I want to be the first to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all my brother knights and families. Please keep Christ in Christmas and have a safe and wonderful Christmas and New Year!!
Grand Knight ,
Tony
